I'm Celebrating!

Today marks the one-year anniversary of my etsy shop Plumed! 

- June 21st 2011 - What began as a little idea I had while laying in bed one night has completely turned into this wonderful adventure and has truly changed my life for the better. It has been such a personal journey and I know this first-year will always hold a special place in my heart.  I remember every order - which is amazing because I am hard-pressed to remember what happened 24 hours ago under normal circumstances. I have made so many pillow covers that have been heartfelt gifts and filled my heart as I made them: for mothers and friends, for girlfriends and grandmothers - from bride-maids to brides and friends that live thousands of miles away. From dads who are decorating their their child's room to gifts welcoming a new baby. Pillows have been shipped from one end of the earth to the next and I have had the opportunity to chat with some of you from half way around the world - from Greece to Tasmania. How could I not love this work? My second customer was a design star, literally, she was an HGTV design star winner, and at the time it felt like the biggest compliment in the world. But I found the bigger compliment to be when I see a familiar name pop up "needing" another pillow for a loved one or to decorate just one more space in their house - that by far is the most glorious of compliments. So that little "idea" has given me the opportunity to have my children at my heels as I work and dream of far away places that these little pillows will travel and upcoming weddings in Lake Tahoe, birthday celebrations, holidays and Grandma's from Ireland.  So with that, it's not only about the success that my customers purchases has allowed me to achieve - but the stories that have been shared with me that added this fabulous texture to my world and my life. I am absolutely looking forward to year two and hopefully many years after that as I, and my products, continue to grow.  xx - Christine
