I am always inspired by crafty moms, it takes a lot to be crafty and I think it takes even more to get crafty with your kids. So I am always on the lookout for easy projects that are a little, I don't know shall we say chic? Because then when I inevitably get left at the craft table by myself after my kids lose interest within about 5 minutes, I can at least enjoy finishing it to the end by myseld and make the clean up all worth it! The truth is, depending on your child's age, it's normal for kids to lose interest in these things pretty quickly - especially at home with mom. But being a person who "crafts" everyday for my pillow line, I like to introduce projects for them too. With my older son Fisher, I think I might have pressed too hard for him to be crafty and now he would rather chew on glass than sit down to a project with me. So with my twins M+L I am trying to just make certain projects available, no forcing here, because I really want a little mini me designer in one of my three boys! Come on just one! I do have to admit it that I love it every time we leave the house M+L say, "are we going to the fabric store?" and they actually say it with enthusiasm! So I am hopeful here.

Well here are 6 inspiring mama created crafts for you to check out that I have pinned on Pinterest. Please be sure to click the numbers that link to the orignal sources and tutorial on the fabulous projects!

Do you have craft time with your kids? If you have any projects on your blog or ones that you love share the link in the comments, I'd love to check them out!

  1. I used to take my older kids to the fabric store when they were younger and they loved it too! I used to sew their outfits and let them pick out a pattern, help w/the fabric selection, and then help me sew. It was really a lot of fun!

    1. i started sewing, well along time ago, but i took it up again because my twins were small and i had such little options for their clothing. but after i decided i wanted to really do something with sewing i ended up turning to home decor. i have so much fabric stored away for all the outfits i planned to make for them, i really should make them something! you have inspired me : )

  3. I crafted with my kids when they were younger. I stayed home and watched my friends 2 sons during the school year, so I was always coming up with a craft to do with them. Now, my daughter is quite crafty with electronics and not so much materials.. she makes her own videos on iMovie and photo edits pics and takes really neat photographs. For myself, I started my own brand of Upcycled T-bags, and will be giving one away soon on a giveaway on my FB page. I will be posting about it soon too! The one thing I cannot be crafty with is food... I just don't have the patience to go through the work of making it beautiful, just to eat it in one bite!

    1. that's awesome victoria! let me know when you do your giveaway! blogging actually inspires me to cook, without it i just don't care that much. it doesn't satisfy my crafty gene, or i just don't have a crafty gene for cooking. but i feel like if i can document it and take pretty pictures it's more fun somehow. most don't make it to my blog but at least i get healthy food on the table . . .most nights ; )
