One design trend that I have been noticing a lot lately is white on white. I think it's lovely, it's extraordinarily editorial, clean and modern  . . .  and completely impractical for my life. I would be hudled in a fetal position on the floor muttering things about crumbs and fingerprints. I think in reality it might also feel a little sterile for me to live in as well (?). But I do love to admire it online. I also like to incorporate white elements in my house to brighten it up however, (like those fantastic little vases) because what I didn't think about when I moved in was which way my one giant wall of windows was facing - it's facing the side that gets no sun and it amazes me on a daily basis how 25 feet of windowed-walls can get so little light in them!  I don't know if I could paint over wooden floors but I absolutely adore white painted wood floors. . .

  1. I love how the bulb in the 3rd image just hang down from the ceiling and the huge wardrobe-like door for the bedroom is amazing! White designs are lovely, modern, and chic! It's attractive for being simple and pure. But I agree in being slightly-impractical. It's nice to see as a model house, but a real "white" house might mean real hard work.
That goes same for Black color themed houses, for it's ever so easy to see microsized dusts :/
    Thanks for the awesome post!

  2. This is my favorite design aesthetic. We just renovated the guest room and I finally got to have white floors and white walls, and let me tell you, it is heavenly. Sure, I'm vacuuming a ton because even with the door closed, black dog hair makes its way in there. But yeah, Scandinavian stark-white is kind of like my biggest design crush of all time. :)

  3. I'm completely with you - white is so clean, crisp, fresh and totally unsustainable by me. Inevitably, something would smudge or spill or streak. It's nice to admire though, from afar

  4. I wish I could pull bright, white, clean, modern off! Although, I love color and texture too much!

Also, I nominated you and your lovely blog for the Liebster Award :) You can check out my latest post about it if you wish!

    1. Since you've been nominated three times for the Liebster, I say take your favorite questions from each set and answer those! ;)

  5. I love the white trend but mostly because I am not allowed to paint the walls in my apartment. It makes decorating so easy!

  6. White on white is gorgeous but would be a challenge to live in. I think adding a little grey or beige is more practical.

We can all be inspired by these photos! The white floors are my favorite.

  7. Sometimes I'm so in the mood for an all-white home but then I look at my kids and abandon the idea ;-)

  8. I couldn't agree more: white on white looks great in an editorial, but for real life... But I'll always prefer white walls and other white elements, like lamps, candles, vases, photography in white frames.

  9. What insanely beautiful images you posted! I love textured white on whites, but alas am living with the damage of 2 white couches and pets...not a happy match. I think white walls may be the only white I'll be adding to the mix in the near future.

  10. I love the white on white look, but I don't think I could ever do white furniture or floors. I love the French country/Scandinavian look though, which has a lot of white but also other colors to warm it up.

  11. I love white wooden floors too, and the white on white. I think you would have to be kidless, petless and husbandless, plus have super maid service 3 times a week to pull it off;) I put this one on our Weekly Link Roundup!...
