Photo Diary: Out & About

Friday, October 12, 2012

Yesterday we went on a little outing with a big friend and a little friend to really yummy gluten-free and vegan bakery, Back to Eden. My friend was looking for gluten-free bread and I was looking for inspiration to continue on my gluten-free test (wah wah). I had the best pear and berry pie and now feel much better that if I decide I need to continue eating gluten free I can still make yummy pie crust, because what is a life without the ability to eat pie? Then we stopped next door at my favorite shoe shop pedX shoes where I quickly fell in love with several pairs of boots, shoes, jewels and bags. Some of my favorites are in the photos. But the one I can't stop thinking about is that bag by Cydwoq (pronounced "sidewalk" - it was a doozy trying to remember that ultra-hip spelling all the way home).  So sad those Hasbeens on sale weren't in my size, I love them. But if I could afford to drop that kind of money on some Hasbeens right now I think I'd have throw in a little extra to get these boots in the matte black.

And how cute are my little guys with their friend up at the counter waiting for their pastries?! Let me tell you they weren't sitting so quietly after they were done. Maybe my immediate caving in on the chocolate mocha cake wasn't such a great idea.

Have a great weekend! Anything special planned? We are expecting rain for the first time in months. I can't complain though because I don't think I have ever said/written that sentence before about Portland weather.

    1. Thank you Ada. I actually took photos of the jewelry so I could look at it when I got home because by the time I had perused all the shoes the little monsters were getting a little restless. Have a great weekend xo

  4. Cywok, amazing. We have a suburb outside Philadelphia called Bala Cynwyd (pronounced Kinwid) and that's the first thing I thought of. Hasbeens are so stylish, you should splurge for a pair one day! Those little ones in those adorable hats at the counter...be still my heart! Have a great weekend, and enjoy the rain! I love rainy weekends for some reason. This weekend we're going apple & pumpkin picking to welcome in fall. Yay!

    1. Oh I fully plan on getting my Hasbeens! I am thinking as a christmas present to myself will be the perfect justification to do so. I am excited about the rain for the weekend . . . just not super excited that it will be continuing for the next 9 months : / Have fun with you apple/pumpkin picking xo

    1. thank you, but you know what is funny? i do edit my photos a lot most times but these weren't edited at all! I am really shy about snapping shots as a patron so I try to be fast and sneaky about it (despite the giant camera around my neck). When I got home and looked at these I thought maybe I should put less effort into my picture taking because they turned out to need no editing!

  7. I love photo diaries! All those leather goods make me want to go shopping!

And of course, I love that little wishbone necklace; I had one as well, but it's a tiny cheap one and has tarnished :(

I completely agree with the pie statement - I love pies.

    1. I love photo diaries too! For me I find it either helps me realize that I do get out of the house more than I think I do, or it inspires me to get out when I need to. Thanks for the link today too. xo

  15. Your images are so lovely! Hope you had a great weekend. We had quite a bit of rain Saturday evening during the wedding reception we attended in southern Missouri, but none during the outdoor wedding itself, luckily. Portland sounds awesome, I've got to visit sometime!

  16. The pie looks delicious, I could dig right in! Those boots are all kinds of awesome and I can totally understand why you can't stop thinking about the bag. Bummer that the Swedish Hasbeens weren't your size. I got a pair a couple of years ago (on sale) and they are one of my summer favorites. Have a great week!
