The curated look has to be one of my favorite big design trends this fall. It may be because I often find that I love the history/mystery/story in objects as much as the objects in and of themselves. And to get the curated look all one has to do is surround yourself with things you love. Of course editing and thoughtful display is a must in order to keep it on the right side of the line between curated and cluttered (which may be why i am so impressed by this design style as i can't seem to do it without it feeling cluttered). But I love this design for its ability to tell a story about a person or about a home or about a life. It can be simple with a few objects displayed so they make you take notice, or layers of objects resting together so closely you have to get up close to inspect each one. It can be used in any design aesthetic to add a little extra warmth and interest to a space and I suppose in the end I just like to feel interested in my surrounding.
What do you think? Are you on board with curated look too?
