Last week we had temperatures near 70 degrees but this weekend they drop down to the low forties with a frosty chill in the air. Every other pin on pinterest seems to be holiday related and Christmas commercials abound. On our walks this weekend all I could notice was that the landscape seemed to turn red and green: the dark green ivy covering my abode, piles of pine needles and the bright red berry bushes. One afternoon I even heard the sound of Christmas music coming from my iphone while M+L were playing with it - I have no idea how they got it on there, but apparently there is no stopping the holiday cheer, and I think I am ready for the festivities. Honestly I usually don't start thinking about Christmas until after Thanksgiving but I can't seem to help myself this year. We even got started on some holiday crafts this weekend and I baked a pie. In my defense, however, December of last year, approximately 12 hours of everyday was completely devoted to making pillows. It's by far the busiest season for my etsy shop and after I finally stopped taking orders I had to cram a months worth of holiday outings, festivities, light seeing, performance going, present making/shopping/wrapping and cookie baking in about three days. So I hope you will forgive me if I get a jump start this year but I feel some holiday posts coming on.

Hope you all had a great weekend! xo

    1. exactly. i love the holidays too, though i have been know to get all caught up in the philosophical questioning of the consumerism. but i also realized it's also a time of togetherness and crafting and cooking, so it all balances out, right?

  10. I definitely won't be upset if you start early with the holiday cheer! For years I worked with a woman who pretty much held off on holiday festivities until Christmas eve. It has made it so that every year in October I'm thinking about Christmas songs and eager to play one. But, I always try to wait until after Thanksgiving is over too :)

    1. i try too. we have a radio station here that play christmas music 24 hours a day after thanksgiving and i know it's going to be dialed to that station in my car until 12/26 so i resist the urge the start before hand.

  12. Hm, I think you might be on to something here. I've already started seeing evidence of the holidays in all of my favorite stores, and I keep telling myself that I'm not ready. I want Thanksgiving first. Perhaps, instead of fighting it, I should just embrace it. Plus, you're right, it never hurts to get a jump start. So, bring on the holiday posts. Let's do this!
