Photo Diary | Weekend Confessions |

This weekend started out on Friday with a doctors visit in which I learned the "5 lbs" I thought I have gained recently is actually 15!! And I attained that number by subtracting a bit for my boots and clothing. Ahhhh!  I then proceeded to find myself renting the Katy Perry movie. I have always (really) disliked her and subsequently felt weird about it - how can you kinda sorta hate someone for no reason so much?! Anyway, I guess I rented it in an effort validate my feelings or find reason to let go of this strange hatred. Well, in the end I think she is a really kind person and so I have new found respect for her for that.

On Saturday I proceeded to spend, (oh my goodness, I am so embarrassed to say this) approximately 12 hours watching a Pawn Stars marathon! My oldest ("the dude") was watching it and then left after a few episodes, apparently having something better to do for the next 10 and half hours. But I continued to be completely glued to my couch. Then after I finally hit a repeat episode around 1 am I looked the show up online to try to find behind-the-scenes info about it (oye vey).

Sunday I slept until almost 10 am (years, since I have slept so late - it was actually 9am with the time change, but really 10am - I think, it completely confuses me). At this point I decided I needed to get the heck out of my house! So I woke up, made breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs and kale with oregano (because they say it gets your metabolism going) and drank some white tea (good for getting rid of fat I hear), then set off by myself and went for a walk in one of my favorite neighborhoods to do a little window shopping, get fresh air and exercise. I couldn't believe it when I got outside to find a 67 degree day! (I wonder what it was like Saturday? Sigh.) I also got a good shot of my little M's black-eye (doozy huh? but, oh, so cute!) and found big brother's old boots that are just the perfect size for M+L to wear. Aw, I can remember when he was a little guy and stomped around in those boots. So here is to erasing my Pawn Stars marathon memories with a super productive week ahead!

  1. Sounds like a pretty good weekend, it's been freezing over in the UK. And I completely understand being drawn into Pawn Stars, they used to show marathons every Sunday last year and our whole uni house used to spend the day watching it, guessing how much they would offer for everything! Good luck with the super productive week, I'm hoping for one of those too, so fingers crossed!

    1. yes, it even is more black and blue today! but i think he's proud of it and it doesn't seem to bother him at all. i am sure i would still be whining about it if i had such an owie!

  3. It seems like you enjoyed a wonderful weekend ... don't know about the Pawn Stars, though, haha
Despite the cuteness I'm sorry to see that black eye. It reminds me of my seven-year old who got hit by his sister's door knob and has a rather swollen left temple.

    Have a wonderful week!

    1. yes it is! my older son had a black eye around the same age and i was so mortified (i was only about 25 years old myself) and i was certain everyone thought i had given to him. luckily i am able to see the cuteness in it this time around and not worry what others think so much!

  8. Oh sweet lord, that little black eye. Poor thing! Your weekend sounds glorious, and I'll be honest, I've often indulged in 8+ hour tv marathons (Sex and the City, Gossip Girl, Law and Order, etc etc) and you shouldn't feel bad about it at all! Sometimes it's just what the doctor ordered.

    1. i will indulge in marathons too, but usually with things that seem more "worthy," like downton abby or walking dead. pawn stars was just making me question if i was reaching a low point, but i think you are right, i just needed the rest. xo

  12. Oh poor Little M! (but is it weird that I think this picture is adorable??) Have you ever had an American Pickers marathon?! That's good stuff too. AND your weight is supposed to fluctuate depending on the time of the day too - so let's take off another 2lbs for that.

    1. another excellent point! it was at 3:30 pm, so let's just call it an extra 5 lbs more than i thought and i didn't notice because i just carry my weight so much better than i used to : ) yeah, yeah.

  13. Oh, you had me at sleeping in late. One day soon, I hope. :) Then, I saw the shiner. Poor thing! Your little one looks tough, though. I'm enjoying all your fall photos since it's, oh, 88 degrees here!
Ha, you pulled a Pawn Stars marathon and I pulled a (mini) Home by Novagratz marathon. Sometimes you just have to give in. Happy new week!

  14. I have to fess up here and say I had a similar weekend, only with an all-day Burn Notice marathon on Saturday (there is something rather strange about watching a violent spy drama at 7am on a Saturday morning)! I loved your beautiful neighbourhood photos (more?) and that photo of Little M is gorgeous - shiner and all!

  15. Nice weekend. Yes, funny how we have an opinion about people and then when we take a closer look it turns out that it doesn't have to be that way.
