Wish List 2012

Tuesday, November 13, 2012

Well, personally I can't think of a better way to kick start my early holiday cheer than to create my very own little wish list. So dear mister Santa Claus, if you are reading this, go ahead and grab a pen and paper - you will need to jot a few things down.

1. I have been wanting a Bertoia Diamond Chair for my desk for a while now. I know they are spendy but I live modestly in a mere 1000 sq ft space and this is really perfect for maximizing that space and not adding a bulky piece of furniture blocking my window.

2. I love this blanket, and no, I don't need this but I really, really want it.

3. You can't get much more practical than wishing for rain boots when you live in the Northwest. And if you get me these ones I promise I will take my kids on more walks, even through the muddy and boggy grass.

4. So this lens is also necessary due to the small space in which I live in. My back and neck can't take much more crawling on counters, up on chairs and folding my self into small corners in order to use my 50mm lens. I really need a wider angle lens, you see.

5. A timer because the "turns" thing is just driving me bonkers. Everyday all day it's: "is it my turn now?", "M/L won't give me a turn," "he had a long turn," "my turn is a too short of a turn." Seriously if you get me nothing else, Santa, get me this cute little timer.

6. Le creuset . . . Well, I have to be honest, I will probably use this 3 times a year which is why I don't have one yet. But you know I am in my mid thirties now and I think it's just time I have one, don't you think?

7. Honestly, I don't even know exactly what this is but it's cute, no?

8. My hallway upstairs is a sad sight and I think this runner would be just the thing to spruce it up a bit.

  1. I could kill for a Bertoia chair! Your trendy assortment looks like a piece of art, Christine, are you sure you're not secretly living in Oslo or in Stockholm?

  4. Awesome wish-list! I bought myself a Pia Wallen blanket earlier in the year from Story North. They have an eco-cotton version that is world's cheaper than the wool one, if that sways you! Buy that lens, stat. A good lens is imperative, especially in lowlight. My house is like a black hole with no natural light, so my 50/f1.4 lens is a godsend. And YES to that La Creuset. It's timeless and you'll have it forever.

    1. i hear you on the low light. i sometimes walk outside and realize my kids are filthy - they look clean inside. luckily my 50mm is a 1.4 as well but i just don't have the room to "move back" to take photos that i want more than a close up of in my house! good tip for the blanet and i know, i know . . . i don't know how i have resisted a le creuset for so long . . .

  8. My goodness, I love your sophisticated palette! That La crueset pot (you're right you need this even if you only use it 3x a year) and the blanket would make me very happy too!

  9. I love the colours of your wish list! Definitely get at least one Le Creuset pot - they are the best of the best of the best. Plus because the coating is natural you don't get the toxins you could get from any teflon and similar pots and pans. I use mine all the time - they are so versatile. x

    1. i usually only use my cast iron to cook with so i am sure me and le creuset would get along well. xo

  10. I love so much on here...is that chair comfortable? And #7 is too adorable to pass up whatever it is! Regarding the Le Creuset, I'm betting you'd use it more than you think. You'd probably be so happy with it that you'd make up reasons to use it. Just sayin'.

  12. Love every single item here. But those boots....swoon! And I think it's a little strange that I've never owned a timer and this one would be a perfect first.

  13. Yes, to every single item on your wish list! The matryoshka doll timer is so cute. I posted a wish list on my blog back in May and already got three items from my list (leather jacket, telephoto lens & boots). I think I need to update it for Christmas ;)

  17. Ha! Yes, to all of it, especially because everything is either black or white, my favorite. The timer is genius! With two small children, this gadget would definitely come in handy. If this is what you're bringing to your holiday posts, now I'm really thrilled you're starting early. ;)
