First I want to thank Santa again for the fabulous DIY holiday cards she shared with us yesterday. I just can't get over how amazing they are!

Black and white decor happens to be my favorite, which says a lot because I am hard pressed to say I have a "favorite" of anything. I appreciate so many different styles and genres in almost every category of life: ice cream, movies, books, clothes, blogs, people and places. . . But this style in particular just makes me swoon every time, it's true love. I am thinking I am finally ready, or should I say my twins M+L, might finally be ready,  to bust out the white paint come spring time and give my walls one more layer. It's just so clean and modern and bright. It's easy to decorate around, even if it's not the easiest to keep clean. I also love how it can make everything in your house pop rather than fade into splotches of clutter, which is what I have going on right now (or so it feels). I am also really into the black and white holiday decor this year and I am planning on attempting this look when I am all caught up from my bout with the flu. Speaking of which I am so sorry to hear so many of you were also plagued with it this week. Ugh, can't the flu wait until after the holidays?!

How cute are those bunny lights? I want to add one of these to my wish list too, but I also recently added this to my wish list - is too much do you think? Woodland animal overkill for a grown woman?

  6. Are you not feeling better yet, dear? I'm just like you (twinsies, YIKES!), I can never say that I have a favorite of anything (commitment issues maybe?). My son is always asking for a favorite color and I just can't do it! However, I do very much like black and white together and that tree is adorable!

    1. i definitely have commitment issues and i should have said it is a favorite "right now" it will change, no doubt about it ; ) my son does the same thing "what are your five favorite movies? what is you favorite band? what is your favorite color?" he doesn't believe me when i say i literally cannot answer these crazy questions! there's too much good stuff out there.

i am finally feeling better as of this afternoon, woohoo! xoxo

  7. I get the urge to go monochromatic in my home most days but I worry I might get bored of it too quickly! Loving that little squirrel light, I think it definitely needs friends of the bunny variety :)

    1. honestly i have the same worry but considering me and my three boys spend 99% of our time in about 500 square feet of space there are many things in our living space to keep it colorful and not too boring. the squirrel is a speaker for you ipod/iphone!!!

  8. Maybe I'm a sucker for design trends, but I have that Pia Wallen crux blanket, that metal ampersand, and the black and white pillow and striped blanket in the first picture. Yikes. It goes without saying that I'm a monochrome fan :) I hope you feel better soon! At least this way you'll be in tip-top health for Christmas day, right? xoxo

  9. What I would do for those rabbit stands, they are so divine! I can't say I'd like full B+W for the entire house, but white is a definite for me. I love how clean, open and contemporary it makes everything seem. These are great inspiration photos! Saving some of these for when I actually get my own place!

    1. i agree. i love that leather poof, it add just the perfect amount of a "lived in" feeling to the space. i definitely don't want to lose a feeling of warmth by painting my walls white.

  11. The bunnies are incredibly cute! I also like the photo of the living room. My floor is white and I'm planning on painting my walls white this spring. This gives me a good idea of what my place could look like! Hope you're over the flu by now. xo

  13. I love the wood tree with the black and white ornaments. And I definitely agree that black and white decor makes everything pop. And when you add even one accent piece it heightens the room that much more.

  15. My favorite has got to be that tree in the last image. So clean and contemporary. I hope you're able to completely rid yourself of that flu bug soon (lots of ginger tea!)

  16. I'm definitely feeling the black and white too. I want to paint or reupholster (black linen!) all my furniture black, and add B&W and wood accents. Since, realistically, I cannot do the former I will have to settle for the latter. All your photos are making me weak in the knees. ;)
PS~Hope each day has you feeling better. Mine lasted about seven days.

  17. Beautiful. Love the black and white...so classic and gorgeous.

  18. I love it! If you paint your walls white, I believe that some kinds of paint are a lot easier to wash off later. If I'm remembering right, higher gloss paints are easier to wipe off. Could be useful with lots of little hands around! I don't think you can have too much woodland in your decor ;)
