I don't know about all of you but the recent holiday and the break I took to enjoy it, has left me dragging my feet back to my usual routines.  To remedy this and get inspired to resume postings here that aren't all holiday related I have been surfing the web for some fresh material (I also erased all signs of the holidays with a good cleaning and purging of all things red/green/sparkly).  I ran across this website, Coffeeklatch, created by Magali Elali and Bart Kiggin. It is quite similar to one of my all-time favorite sites, Freunde von Freunde, both offer an insiders peek to creatives, with interviews and photos. For me it's kind of like driving at night and straining your neck to see the inside of peoples homes that leave their curtains open and their lights on, but without the fear of getting caught or hitting a parked car. (I am not the only one that does that, right?) In fact it's much better because you get a little insight to the person/s within those windows. This is a sample of one their amazing interviews with Frederic Hooft, an interior designer and vintage retailer. The first thing that caught my eye was that lovely fireplace. It has been freezing cold here the last couple days and I have been dreaming of a perfect little fireplace just like this one. Or maybe one like this.

  1. Oh no, you're not the only one! I like to walk my neighborhood at night so I can see in houses, for sure. And walking is safer than driving! ;) One of my plans for the year (not resolutions, just a wee plan) is to light the fire more. Just to have it going all day. I wish you could see my mom's living room. She has a fireplace that takes up almost a whole wall and she lights it almost every day. Her house smells heavenly.

    1. Oh, and I lovelovelove all the white in these shots.

  2. I've been furniture stalking lately and I think I could steal every one of this guy's chairs

  3. Ok, this is seriously swoon-worthy! And I had to laugh out loud at your comment about hitting parked cars in order to get a peek inside someone’s house, I have been known to trip over and walk into lampposts or get my husband to circle the block in the car so I can get a better look!

  4. love! always cool to come across new amazing websites!

  5. As a huge Freunde von Freunde fan, I'll definitely check this site out! Like you, I'm a neck-craner/rubbernecker with it comes to spying on people's open windows. It hasn't backfired on me yet, but I expect one of these days (when I have my face totally pressed to the glass of their front window (we don't have a car, so all of my spying takes place on foot!)) I'll get caught. I'm innocent! In the name of fabulous home design, I'm innocent! xo

  6. What beautiful photos! I especially love the stairs that are so perfectly rustic.
    Isn’t That Charming.

  7. I like peeking into other peoples homes and do it quite frequently at night, when I am walking somewhere. That makes sites like Freunde von Freunden so appealing, I will definitely check out coffeeklatch. I am smitten with that worn out stair and would love mine to look like that. And I couldn't resit falling in love with the leather egg chair. The leather will probably only look better with time...

  8. I love when everything is so fresh in a home. If I had a home like that I bet I would wake up every morning feeling clean and refreshed.
