Detour

Tuesday, March 12, 2013

Pardon the detour today but I am over at like / want / need with a little guest post about my home which feels like perfect timing considering there will be painters here today painting* my currently sad but soon to be happy hallway. It's getting all done up with a fresh coat of Ben Moore. This is just little a sneak peek of my bedroom which I didn't include any photos of at Erin's blog because it's currently one of the places in my house I feel the need to give a little makeover. While I have to admit it does look a little cosy in this photo, it also looks tired, like me when I go in there at night and fall asleep within 5 seconds. And, oh, how I am wanting to fluff the pillow up on the right side of this photo, it's torturing me! But whatevs, I am just keepin' it real, folks. I don't always fluff perfectly, or at all in this case, and to really keep it real I rarely even make my bed, gasp, shame! Maybe this will serve as my "before" photo for when I finally get around to doing my mini-makeover someday. I also didn't realize until I uploaded this photo that every single thing in this picture is from Ikea. Oy, I guess having an Ikea 5 minutes from house has made me a bit of a regular.

Thanks for swinging by be sure to check out Erin's wonderful blog if you want to see more pictures of my little abode and see that I am not all as monochromatic as I pretend to be.

* I am taking Wednesday off from posting to put my house back to together so I will see you back here Thursday. But of course I might need a break here or there and more than likely need a little inspirational pick-me-up so I will surely be checking in on how your Wednesdays are going. xo

  1. Loved your post at Erin's and I wouldn't have noticed that pillow if you hadn't pointed it out (ahem!). It's funny. I'm moving more neutral these days. What's up with that?

  3. Oh so intrigued to see your beautiful home Christine and can I just say how much I LOVE your bedroom curtains - I am an insomniac so they would need to be black with white patterns on them for me but wow they are gorgeous!

    1. thanks! those curtains are from ikea and i think they were about 15$ for two . . . you could afford to put a black layer of curtains behind them (i have blinds).

  9. Now I can call "Twinsies" as I have those same curtains in our bathroom. Your bed looks so cozy, as does the rest of your home. I love what you did with your dining room. The wallpaper is fantastic! All of the pieces, both vintage and new, come together really well and tell a beautiful story in your home. Though, if you're anything like me, I'm sure you weren't trying to tell any story; You just picked things that you loved. (As it should be, [wink].) Thanks for sharing, Christine. It's so nice to get a little glimpse into your world.

    1. thanks it's true! like i mentioned above doing that post really brought it home to me that while i am always wanting to improve my house and get this or that it really is truly a reflection of me, it fits me. so that was really fun to realize that. (i am still jealous of your eames chairs though!). hopefully we can be twinsy on that front someday too (wink). xx
