The Weekend | Instagram Review |

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a lovely weekend. I feel like mine flew by! Good thing it's spring break for us or else I would surely be suffering from a case of the monday's today. Though it went quick a lovely weekend we did have. We started out Saturday by meeting my mom and my sister for some breakfast crêpes and a little window shopping on my favorite go-to street, Hawthorne. I also finally planted my new flowers in potting soil, as I had them propped up in my new planter for over a week. (I love the chartreuse color of my new containers!)

Sunday I set out to refill my fabric inventory and I just happen to pass by a thrift store and an estate sale. I think it was fated because I found a few things that I have been wanting for a long time and because it was sunday I got their already low prices for half price! Love that. Those boots are one of my new scores. They are vintage suede and look like they have been worn maybe 5 times. They even sport the date "1974" inside but look brand new. I love them. I have also been putting off getting a laptop case for about 2 years. The ones I would find were either hideous or super expensive and I just don't require one often enough to spend too much. I got that leather brief which fits my macbook like a glove for a whole $2! Sunday we ended the weekend with a lovely walk in which were able to watch the sunset for a minute or two before it feel behind the city. The spring weather is picking back up where it left off a week ago. Though the weatherman tells me it will be gone again soon, today however, it is suppose to be in the mid-60's. I will take it where and when I can get it! With that I am off today visit my bff and her adorable children in Hood River so I may be back tomorrow, or I may not. I am going to live by the old motto "be here now" and play it by ear.

  1. What a find! Or finds! Both your estate sale grabs are awesome, and so "you." It was totally meant to be that you'd stumble across it. Think of the history of that bag! Have you searched all the pockets yet? On the plane on the way to Paris I watched "The Words" with Bradley Cooper, the movie where he plays a struggling writer who discovers an unpublished manuscript in an old briefcase he picks up in Paris, and he publishes it under his name. The movie was just okay, don't rush out to see it if you haven't already, but your briefcase really reminds me of that movie! Enjoy your little getaway with your bff tomorrow, and have fun on spring break! It's yours too, after all. :) xo

    1. well, if was trying to live via an alter-ego via my blog i have failed because yes, those things are so me ; )

i did look in the pockets and i didn't find anything, i love finding little surprises in things, a manuscript would be pretty awesome. i keep passing that movie up because for whatever reason (avatar?) that actress bugs me, but i think it sounds good. now i really DO want to see it. xoxo

  5. I just loved seeing all your photos this weekend, and I'm trying very hard not to be too jealous of your new boots and bag. ;) It helps that I think they're perfect for you. I just love all the tones in these pictures of yours. Makes me think of the brown earth turning over and up to face the sun in time for the warmth of spring.

  7. I love your gently used boots and case! Your case is very similar to a leather portfolio I have, same exact color and type of leather. I've had mine for 20 years (!) and I love how the leather ages on it. Oh my, did I just write 20 years?! Wow, sounds like you had such a great weekend with beautiful snaps to match.

  8. The leather briefcase was $2?!?! GAH! I've been looking for a purse that has that saddle leather touch for ages and I haven't been able to find anything less than $500.

PS - I'm really enjoying catching up on your blog. It's one of my faves :)
