Swimwear: 1 | 2 | 3 Sandals: 1 | 2 | 3 Bag / Cover-up / Hat

The end of April is already here and so is the sunshine around these parts. Over the weekend I actually got a sunburn and this week we are suppose to be in the 80's. I am wondering if this is a sign that we may actually get a hot summer this year. While I am hoping we do I am also realizing that my wardrobe is not prepared for any weather where leggings won't work.

Don't let this round-up fool you though - I am not a swimsuit girl. I love looking at swimsuits much more than I love wearing them. We have a pool however so I am always forced to wear one, but I think my vintage one-piece saw it's last swim last summer and I need a new one. I am so happy that one-pieces and high-waist bikinis are back in fashion, I may actually find a new one this year. In fact I may even have trouble deciding on which one to buy!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. My yard sale was a success and everything that didn't sale was donated. I am so happy that the lengthy process of my purging is finally over. Which means it's time to buy new things, right?

  1. I love swimsuits too, and they aren't the best look for me. The vintage styles that have been cropping up of late are so dear, aren't they. We broke down and joined a pool this year (Neel was opposed for forever because it was called "club" and it's so not a club...just a neighborhood pool, but whatever!), so I fear my swimsuit days are many. I should start looking.

    1. totally not the best look for me either ; ) personally i think black leggings and a long top is my best look but probably not for swimming. my pool is shared with my neighbors as well, if it weren't i could care less but it's kind of weird when your neighbors suddenly see you almost naked. one, one-piece please.

  2. I love one-pieces with a passion. I'm so happy the retro style is back. I clicked over to that gorgeous cover-up and am just a little heartbroken it's $600! Just a smidge out of my budget ;) My brother has a pool in his backyard that my nieces are anxiously waiting to open for the season, so I'm sure I'll have to don my J.Crew one-piece and get my swim on. I did just buy a straw bag from J.Crew, too. And a big floppy sun hat. Apparently I'm getting ready for the sun even though I don't like it? Weird!

    1. I know, I am sorry! I am much more likely to buy a car for $600 than a bathing suit cover-up but after finding that one I couldn't resist. I love the summer because it doesn't rain here so much. We have pretty dry summers so I am sure that helps, humidity in the city is the worst.

  3. I love the third one, I've never seen such an interesting design how it cuts straight across. I hope you are enjoying those lovely temperatures.

    Cheers,

  6. I'm a fan of all the retro bathing suits too! They're all so cute. I'm especially loving this wonderful summery roundup you put together. And that cover up! Oh, to be somewhere tropical right now.
Congratulations on a successful yard sale and the culmination of your purge! I think you've definitely earned yourself some kind of reward; Something new, for certain. ;)

  7. The Sam Edelman sandals are beautiful! I hardly wear heels during the summer.

  9. Jealous of your weather! It’s turned cold here in London again (apparently parts of Europe are still experiencing snow)! But I am so looking forward to my trip to France, where hopefully I can break out a swimsuit or 2! I also clicked on that cover-up because it is GORGEOUS but yikes, the price made me weep! So glad your yard sale went well!
