Thanks to pinterest I have yet another new item to obsess over - boucherouite rugs. It may be that I have been in my own land of painstaking handcrafting lately so items like this are really calling to me right now. Though I can't imagine how many hours goes into handcrafting just one of these rugs. More than that however, I love the free-form designs, the colors and that they are crafted with reused materials. I also find the story behind them intriguing which you can read a bit about here. Even though they are in fact made for floors, I could easily see one of these hanging on a wall as a piece of art. What do you think? To Boucherouite or not to Boucherouite?

  1. Oui! I had no idea that's what they were called, I sort of equated them with an Anthropologie-styled-look, but now that I know the name I can keep an eye out for one! They just look so plush--perfect for laying down and reading a good book. xo

  2. I love these! I would definitely hang it on the wall and not just use it for the floor. The large texture and colors are so lovely that I would even hang it at the end of a bed. I'm really loving these and I too can see how many hours were spent on each individual piece.

  4. Well, I have to admit, I didn't just adore them until you told me to hang them on the wall. Ha! Then I fell in love! I already have rugs on the walls so I'm not sure why it didn't occur to me right away but there you are.

    Now I like them.

  8. I love this beautiful bright space, it's so refreshing. I've been thinking of changing my off white walls for brilliant white ones. They seem so full of life and reflect all the beautiful colors in the room.
