A Corner

Hello little corner. The first thing that caught my eye about this cheerful little space was the lucite console with the magazines stacked up underneath (and the coffee table too). I have an ever growing collection of magazines that seem to multiply like rabbits. In fact I don't even remember subscribing to half of them (does this happen to anyone else?). But being as I haven't had time (made time) to read them all I can't throw them out and I know if I put them "away" they will forever sit under my stairs or high in a closet. I love the idea of keeping them accessible but also using them to add visual interest that isn't as cluttered as what I currently have going on. And while pink is presently in my favor I am also loving it paired with a hints of gold and blue. And of course every few months I have to add a berotia diamond chair to one of my wish lists. It's still on there - someday. Someday I will have one and I will name him harry after his dad, which will suit him perfectly after I dress him up in a sheepskin.

Oh, and if you haven't checked out the selections of rugs from Lulu & Georgia you should do that now. So many. So pretty.

  1. I love little spots like this. So cozy, so primed for a good curl-up-with-a-book session. And I love that lucite console. I only get one magazine (we get one each, actually, plus whatever comes with the Sunday Times) but we're really diligent about tossing them as soon as we finish reading them. Of course, there are some that I'll hold on to for whatever reason, a specific article or photo spread, but needless to say I won't be able to decorate my home with them anytime soon. Oh! And speaking of mystery subscriptions, we got Dwell for a year and neither of us ordered it. Je ne sais pas! xo

  2. Ah, that table made of magazines looks very familiar. :) I have two stacks of magazines as part of my living-room decor. :)

  3. A reading corner? I'm definitely all about those. I have desperately wanted one of those cushy chair-and-a-halfs for my reading / napping / everything seat too

  4. Don't worry - you are not the only one who has been hit with a magazine plague. There are so many stacks throughout my apartment. I move the news ones to the dining room table, then to the coffee table, then to my bedroom on the largest stack by the bed in which I am convinced I will read them all one day. A lucite table is a wonderful way to show them off.

  5. Gorgeous collection of items. So I named that Lulu & Georgia rug (and it's totally one of my favorites from the site). So quirky and feminine and fun! Happy that you mentioned L&G too! Hope your week is going well!!!

    1. it was so hard for me to pick which one. i am indecisive by nature and i like so many different styles, but i think the name partly sealed the deal for me ;) i looove L&G i think i stop by at least once a week for a little daydreaming. xo

  6. I don't collect magazines but books- a million of them stacked. I do love that chair :) really ads to the corner.

  7. I love the way this is styled! I actually have a lot of lucite, including a console like that, just to give the illusion of more space, but I think I'll have to try this with my magazines :) Hope you are having a wonderful week!

  8. I'm not generally a huge fan of lucite, but I love that coffee table. I'm on the hunt for a coffee table and have been for YEARS, so it speaks to me. We're drowning in magazines. It feels like the New Yorker comes every day! But I wouldn't change it for the world. And where would I be without my Martha Stewart Livings? J'adore!

  9. Finally! An excuse to hang on to all my magazines! Thanks for posting this Christine – it’s such a pretty little corner and you may well have passed your love of diamond chairs to me now…
