The time is near! I have been a little m.i.a around here (and everywhere else!) lately because I have been preparing for a sale with fab which officially kicks off tomorrow. If you have been reading here lately you will know that I have been both nervous and excited about it. Nervous because I have had a to-do list that seemed to grow rather than shrink no matter how many hours a day I put into getting ready. Nervous to put my work out there in such a large marketplace and wonder if it will reach the sales goal, and other such worrisome thoughts. And I am excited because if someone told me five years ago that I would have a business handmaking my own designs I would never have believed it. I dreamed of being a lot of things: a photo journalist, a writer, a teacher, Sigourney Weaver in Gorillas in the Mist, but having my own business never once crossed my mind. So it's really exciting to objectively stand back and see where I have ended up simply by following one of the many passions I have had over the years. (note to self: keep doing that).
I will also be launching my new online shop later today at some point. It's not exactly where I want to be but the foundation has been laid - and if I am going with a house analogy I'd say the walls and flooring have been done as well. But the decorating and little details not so much. It's definitely at a starting point to getting it where I want it to be and for now that a good start. And as with all big undertakings hiccups are sure to occur at the 11th hour, so I am currently tackling those. But if you come back tomorrow I will have it all linked up to this post so you can see. And for those that have been following along thanks for all your words of encouragement and reminders to be more excited than nervous, as well as being my only source of adult human interaction lately. xo
