After visiting my grandpa in the nursing home, if you remember I had decided we were going to make something to brighten up his walls and give him something I knew he would appreciate, which is of course art, being an artist himself. M + L were more than happy to oblige and created, if I do say so myself, a couple of masterpieces. Using real canvas boards they were so proud of their work and with that it was about as adorable as it gets. (That is Luca on the top and Milo on the bottom)

We delivered them to grandpa and though he is almost completely blind he was overcome with pride at their abilities declaring they are both definitely artists (it's these things that make grandparents the best, no?). However, I think I may need to put Erin to work as it seems there has been an art heist! When we visited last I discovered that the artwork was missing. Apparently it isn't just amazing to us family members but seemingly coveted works of art. Bandits! As you can imagine it is priceless and all tips or leads are welcome. Last known whereabouts: Grandpas room (#6) west facing wall.

  1. Oh NO! I mean, of course, who wouldn't want such beautiful pieces? But oh NO! This is terrible. I assume you checked all the drawers?

Your sons are stunners, and their smiles are just the best. Try *not* looking. Maybe then their beautiful art will show up...

  2. Oh no! Missing?? My first instinct would be to ask grandpa. Family members I've had in homes or hospice with tended to hoard things in their bed for later, just in case, or move things with good intentions and not remember where they put them. I don't think this is as nefarious a heist as it could be, but rather a simple mix-up. They're in the room somewhere, I just know it! Those boys of yours are certainly beaming with pride at their creations, the little artists! xo

    1. Also, I'm so so touched that you all made art for grandpa. I think that's just the most amazing thing.

    2. sadly he has pretty much nothing in his room (which is why we were bringing some artwork), it's empty, barebones. i looked everywhere and it's definitely not there. but that doesn't mean it isn't in someone else's bed, maybe down the hall ;)

  4. oh my gosh oh my gosh the boys look so cute in these pics! i love the little r2d2 shirt that luca is wearing!!! and the boys definitely did a lovely job on these - each one compliments the other just like i bet the boys do! as for the art being missing, that's such a shame :( my mind automatically thinks that grandpa was so proud that he went to show everyone else the artwork, and someone must have gotten jealous. yep, that's probably what happened.

  7. Oh, no art heist in the nursing home! My grandmother is in a nursing home as well and things constantly disappear from her room. Nobody is sure if it's her or her neighbors hiding things or if somebody is stealing, as money disappears too. So sad in either case. You can see how proud both L&M are of their art. And how adorable is Luca's R2D2 tee!

    1. this is my first nursing home experience but i imagine it happens ;) my grandfather has dementia on top of it and is blind, so obviously he isn't the best witness. i DO know when we go visit M+L are super popular so kids art may be the hot commodity around there. the tee is made from a vintage star wars bed sheet, a fabulous yard sale find! xo

    2. This story just made my day! It's definitely a job for Erin to investigate! At the same time, it might be the perfect opportunity for M&L to make some more?? Your little uns are seriously talented!
