Ankle Boots For Fall

Thursday, September 5, 2013

Yesterday Fisher went back to school. The day for it was perfect, overcast and cool. His day was a good one and he seemed happy with all his classes and teachers. He's taking ceramics, French and graphic design which made me feel really jealous. I want to take all of those classes too! I was not so jealous of chemistry and calculus (or whatever math class it is he's taking now), but he actually talked most excitedly about those ones. The whole day made me start feeling really ready for fall, which is good, because it's just about here.

When I think about fall several lovely images come to mind like the leaves turning autumnal colors and falling, reading, writing, comfort food, warm drinks, bulky sweaters, the new fall line-up and wool blankets. But mostly I think about boots. I spend a lot of time daydreaming about all the boots I wish I had and want to buy. I was going to give a little more variety here but I quickly had an extensive list of just ankle boots so I decided to stick with that for this round-up.

  1. As much as I miss high school (and I do. Infinitely more than college) I will forever be grateful I never have to take calculus or math ever again! Do I miss AP English, and French, and Philosophy? Current Affairs? Of course! But it's like throwing the baby out with the bath water, and in this case, the bath water is algebra or sines or cosines. Yuuuck.

    1. oh boy i don't miss high school at all. those were not my glory days. i do miss college. or i think i just miss classes. mostly picking them. i loved getting the catalog and creating 50 different schedules and trying to decide.

i lived in philosophy classes. my favorite. i have a minor in philosophy (among other things because i majored in um nothing). but now i realize there's so many classes i wish i would have taken. grrr. i do think about going back to school . . . and then i get a bill for my loans in the mail : /

  2. I'm loving your boot selection and it's the one thing I really need--well actually I don't have much clothes and I need a few things, but as it won't be chilly here for a long while, I'll probably just stick to boots for now. Which pair though? I like the brown ones, but black is probably more practical...haha, see this is why it takes me forever to make a decision! Curious which pair you will get :)

p.s. I think you would like Laura Mercier lipstick. I'm still wearing one, Pink Dusk the girl at the counter told me would go with everything - it really does and I've worn it through spring and summer and on into fall/winter.

  3. I spent last year really regretting not having any ankle boots, so even though I'm not spending money right now, I still think maybe I need some. Hmmm. And then the decisions really begin!

  6. You get to take ceramics at school now? Seriously jealous. I am currently mooching about in flip flops and am staring longingly at those little brown boots. It's acceptable to wear them in summer too right?
