I did it. I can't believe I pulled off (very) last minute costumes for M+L, but sometimes I work better under pressure because I don't have time to over think, rethink or keep trying to think of something better. They loved their costumes and as you can see they looked pretty adorable in them. They did pretty good in the trick or treating department too (lots of full-sized candy bars! i don't remember that! i do remember the penny i got once though. wah wah.). One thing I love about Halloween is going to neighborhoods with big beautiful houses, it's the one night of the year you can nonchalantly stare into peoples doorways and windows without seeming like a creeper, or at least you blend in. We went just a few blocks outside of our neighborhood to one of my long-time favorites that is filled with gorgeous homes. We even happened upon an open house, a one million dollar gem of an old Portland style home that made me weep with want. They gave the kiddos candy and the adults wine. That's good marketing right there people. All in all it was a success, though after this I am feeling like I better start my holiday planning early so I don't end up last minuting thanksgiving or christmas, I don't think it's as easy to last-minute those ones. How was your Halloween? Oh and happy first of November, have a great weekend!

  1. I know what you mean about working better under pressure. Your little ones look adorable in their costumes. I don't celebrate Halloween, but Romanians have happily adopted the holiday and I must say it was lovely seeing the kids on the streets last evening, costumed and with their little baskets and big smiles on their faces running around.
I love peeking into people's beautiful homes when I walk in certain parts of the city too. :) That's one of my guilty pleasures. ;)
    Have a great weekend, Christine!

  2. I am about to die from the cute overload here. Awesome, standup job, Momma. We didn't have too many homemade costumes last night, which was a huge bummer, but there were some super sweet kiddos regardless. None, perhaps as sweet as these kiddos. That dragon head is spectacular. I would want to wear it every day!

And what a brilliant idea to have that open house. I totally wish I could have been there with you! Your IG photo was amazeballs. How will I ever decide between Erin's 500sqM house and that! ;)

  4. Seriously such an adorable costume(s). I'm in awe! You're already putting me to shame, and I'm years away from even having to worry about it, haha. I loved all the medieval times folklore, so these costumes are perfect. You can't tell it was even a rush job! How are you so good?? xo

  7. Those costumes look amazing! I wish we had Halloween here. It's getting more and more popular though, so perhaps the Dutch will actually grow to do it too one day;)

  12. They looked just as cute as can be! Way to go Christine. And staring into other people's homes was one of my favourite parts of Halloween as a kid, especially if they had a dog. :)
