Arctic Inspired

I think it may have been as recently as last week that I was saying I wasn't sure I was ready for the holidays this year, but now that the season has started I am fully on board. The coziness of the holiday season seems to be irresistible for me. I haven't decorated yet, I am thinking that will be on this weekends agenda, but I love, love, love the simplicity and warmth of this styling: the fireplace and sheepskins, winter white, raw wood and grey. Oh my. And you probably know by now how I love woodland animals at this time of year, so it shouldn't surprise anyone that this caught my eye. While it isn't christmasy per se, it certainly has a wintery feeling - add a little tree in the corner and it would be my idea of holiday decoration perfection.

PS do you think those are suppose to be hoof tracks in the carpet?

  1. Oooh, loving these cool and cozy images. That second photo is making me want to grab some of the (very dirty) Panton chairs I have stuffed somewhere in the garage and let them make a winter comeback. I'm looking forward to getting a peak at some of your holiday decorating!

  2. I wondered the same thing! Hooves in the carpet! LOVE! I'm defintely in an Arctic mood, but it's meant to be 75 here on Friday. UGH. We'll make up for it by a rainy chilly weekend and I'm proposing lots of fires in the fireplace and house decorating and perhaps lots of rum and cider. I think I want to live in each of these pictures.

  4. Awww, those are definitely hoof tracks in the carpet. What are you doing for decorating this year? I still have to get a tree and I have Xmas lights to put up as well. Too much to do and too little time! Maybe I'll hang the Xmas lights "college-style" inside my apartment and call it a day :)

  5. i plan on decorating this weekend too! i typically decorate a little earlier in the month, so i feel like i won't get as many weeks or days out of my decorations this year! and i too look forward to nothing more than all the coziness of this season. the only thing i am missing is a cold wind and scarves and boots. it's nice out, but by nice i mean it's still in the 70's during the day here in florida. i could really use some red-cheeks to properly enjoy the holidays!

  6. I mean. I just. Want. Want want want. Do you promise the heat works in there, though? Our heat broke the day before Thanksgiving and thankfully we got it fixed this past Sunday, but what I learned from that experience is that I like my houses toasty roasty in the winter (and we were away Thursday-Saturday, so I only had limited complaining-time). I love this home! Can I just have that fireplace and those wooly slippers? xo

  8. How cute are the paw/hoof tracks in the carpet. I can see myself sitting by the fire and read a book and drink a cup of tea. Yes, that would be a perfect winter past time.

  9. HAHA I think those are supposed to be hoof tracks! Yay for holiday decorating! I seem to get into it more and more each year and have caught the Christmas vintage bug too- and have been trying to find vintage ornaments.
