House Tour | Melbourne Apt. |

This home is so wonderfully pretty and organized it makes me heart sing, and then break with the knowledge that it is very not likely in my DNA to ever have a home quite like this. But I love it and I so admire it, for both the fluidity and definition of each space. I love all the styling and interior design choices too. I am neutral gal for the most part. While I love other styles, a lot of other styles, for me my comfort zone is mostly in neutrals. This is essentially because I indeed like so many styles (and can easily get burnt out on them too) I have to keep it simple in order to not have too many different things going (or get burnt out). This is always a work in progress for me by the way. And with that I omit things like color for fear of veering off in the wrong direction, as I have done many times. With that said one of my favorite things about this space is that it feels so neutral but with the perfect amount of really lovely color choices throughout.

  2. I'm having a mixed reaction to this home tour that I have to think about for awhile. Soft colors, but squared off edges. It sounds nice, but my reaction is off for some reason. Maybe it's what some of you are saying: too neat? Too minimal? And I like minimal! I love that desk, but somehow I don't trust that desk. Does that make sense? And yet it's so lovely. How can I say no?

I'm reading a book right now, I Adore Your Style by Amanda Brooks that I bet you'd like. It's about fashion, but she talks about just what you do here. Trying different styles and getting burnt out and being okay with that.

  4. Clean and streamlined...the way I live in my dreams. What I like the most is the large scaled art work.

  6. That towel rack built into the bathroom sink is pretty nifty, but I love that nook desk the most. Natural light and pale neutral colors go a loooong way in a home, if I've learned anything from Pinterest :)

  7. I got totally distracted at the beautiful paintings- so modern but edgy and the second one has some amazing texture and movement.

PS Did you see---- blue skies today!!

  8. ooooh the things i would do to the marble backsplash in the kitchen... like cleaning it all the time and shining it up to admire it every day and my gaze would get lost in its veins when stirring a pot... marble is so gorgeous in kitchens i'm drooling over here!

  9. The paintings are the perfect finishing touch. I think it really counteracts the almost sterile feeling of this home. I really identify with the artwork though, I have long been drawn to things that are multi-colored (you know this) and right now I am getting ready to neutralized my walls in the livingroom, from a soft yellowish cream to a white tone. So I really appreciate what I see here. : )

  10. The desk area is so cute, with the copper lamp. But you're right, this could never be my house. I'd have something shockingly red somewhere and it'd throw off the entire colour scheme

  11. Through your blog I really enjoy to visit of your house. Now I can say, your home is worth to visit. You have a truly fantastic sense of interior design style. All photos of the home in a blog really impressive. I loved all. After my cherry blossom tours with my friends I must decorate my home same as the photographs.
