One Down

Wednesday, March 5, 2014

So far I have one clear decision down on my future sofa. That one thing is the color. I thought about going in all sorts of directions and I have long wished for a blue velvet sofa, or a fun color like this or this, but when it came down to it I have known what I always wanted and that's my old standby, my favorite color, grey. I have even decided on the style I like - it is this one. But the lovely woman from YSF who is helping  me suggested that for a little savings I could go with tthis style which can be made the same as the other but has button tufting as opposed to the the "grid tufting" in my first choice (i thought it was just folds in the fabric but apparently it's all sewn into a grid). Now I am one step forward and another back. I like saving money and I thought either tufting would be fine with me, but the more I look at the grid tufting the more I love it.

  1. The Astro sofa is a beauty! Although I love that color green, a gorgeous slate grey would be beautiful too. I'm excited for you to save up for this and even more excited to see it in your home when you can finally have it!

  2. I very seriously thought about getting a grey sofa when I was sofa shopping as well and ended up with a beige one that (knock on wood) hasn't had an red wine spilled on it yet. I will admit, I wish I had gone with the grey so I can't wait to see what you end up picking

    1. my sofa now is a very light beige, or was now it's just bluck. i bought when m+l were just babies and i knew it was not a good idea. it wasn't. i am hoping grey will still be neutral but a bit more forgiving ;)

  3. We have a gray microsuede sectional that I adore. We all love it. It's a sinky, great-for-napping sofa. The back cushions could stand a *bit* more structure for my taste, but then perhaps it wouldn't be so great-for-napping? I think gray is a great choice and I am all about tufts. Good job, Mama!

    1. thanks! i am not sure this will be so much a napping sofa, but i don't nap so i am okay with that. as long as i can sink into it with my coffee and computer i will be happy!

  5. Gray is always a good choice!! (coming from someone whose sofa is gray, whose bedroom is painted gray, who wears gray, and who looooves gray). I go back and forth on tufting as a whole, but I'm sure whatever you pick will be lovely! xo

    1. i agree about the tufting. i do love it at times, but i didn't think that's what i would choose for my house. but in this particular style i found i really liked it and it's what i kept going back to over and over again.

  6. I'm with Erin here, grey is always a good choice, (I might be biased as my sofa is also grey). Works with everything and if you do spill something on it...let's just say it is a lot easier to clean than white ones. Again, love the pictures!

    1. yeah, i think i like the tufting because of the grid. otherwise it wasn't even an option i was really considering. so that probably answers my own question ;) i am glad you concur!

  11. I like the one in the 4th image. It looks cosy, and besides being elegant, I think a coach should be comfortable too. But I like the rug in the second photo even more. It gives personality to that room.
