I have mentioned how pretty Portland is when it's not raining, right? Because it is. It's an amazingly beautiful place when the sun comes out and everyone comes out of their houses - the whole city feels so alive. This weekend wasn't all work, that would have been a shame because it was the nicest weekend this year by far. I was lucky enough to steal away on Sunday morning to spend some time with my dear friend, who was also able to sneak off sans children, for a stroll at the market downtown. I think in our 5 years of friendship we have spent a total of 3 outings together without our children, and it was lovely. It's so nice to be able to walk around at a steady pace, look at all of the handmade wares, sit in the sun and chat (uninterrupted and unfiltered), and just be.

  1. I'm in the throes of it right now, and I could use an afternoon like this with a girlfriend. Wander and talk. Wander and talk. So happy for you, my dear.

  7. It really is gorgeous! Glad you enjoyed your day! These really are beautiful photos, I was in Auckland a few weeks ago, and trying to photograph the city, it was so difficult, I am so not used to capturing an urban landscape, so much going on!
