Photo Diary | Allday-Everyday + Tiger |

Friday is here. My craft show is tomorrow and it's mother's day weekend. Three cheers! I have been anticipating this weekend for the last few months after I found out I was accepted to be a vendor. And truthfully as nervous as I thought I'd be, I am more just relived that it is here and I can stop imagining how it will go. Put the experience in my back pocket (and clean my house!).

I also feel so blessed that doing what I do allows me to be home with the kiddos that I adore so much. I just love them and really, truly love being a mom. I am pretty sure I've made that clear, even if I don't talk about them all the time here on the blog (i am afraid if i start doing it too much i'll never stop, because really they are the cutest bestest funniest kids in the world.). But I thought I'd share a few of the things that are my favorites right now about my little guys, M+L. First I should probably stop using "M+L" to reference my twins because they have officially changed their names. Awhile back Milo changed his name to Volcano, but it didn't last long, so I wanted to wait and see if the new names stuck before I made any big announcements. But these last ones are not going anywhere. Luca is now Tiger. And Milo is now Allday-Everyday. I am constantly either being ignored or corrected anytime I call them by their former names. They, on the other hand, never slip up. And being as this has been going on for about the last 4 weeks I am trying to get better at using their new names all the time, (though allday-everyday is quite the mouthful). Last week when I was filling out their school papers, as I wrote their names down, Milo said "no! my name is allday-everyday, not milo anymore." We'll see once school starts. But you know it's kindergarten and if it persists, I am just going to be totally fine with that. Likely I'll still need their 'old' names on the paperwork though.

Gorgeous is the word of the moment as well. I don't know where they got it. While I write 'gorgeous' a lot (especially in the blogosphere), it's not a word I speak very often. But it's their favorite word. It started with 'gorgeous eyes.' Every dog and baby just had the most 'gorgeous eyes.' Now if they color and I say "that's awesome!" They say "no, mama, it's gorgeous." If I say "that shirt looks so cute on you!" They say "no, it looks gorgeous." The bonus is everything in my world has become gorgeous. Me, dinner, our clothes, the flowers, everything. It's all gorgeous. And it is. If you see the world as beautiful, you truly do find all the beautiful things. And that is by far one of my favorite things in general in my life as a mama right now. Just seeing the world through their eyes, because you know it's totally gorgeous - all day, everyday.

I hope everyone has a great weekend and if you are in the Portland area come by and say "hi" to me at the crafty wonderland sale

  1. Best of luck to you at your show this weekend - it's going to be great, I just know it. Happy early mother's day! AND I love love love Tiger and Allday-Everyday. This goes a long way in proving my point that your twins are much cooler / hip than I have ever and will ever be. And now I'm pondering a name change myself...

  2. Stuck on words! It happens to everyone! Gorgeous isn't such a bad one, though. I think I've finally dropped fantastic!
Good luck at the craft show! You're going to rock it. And in the meantime, can you just package those little munchkins up for me and send them over here? I have a feeling they are like, 20 times more fun in person, which is saying something because they look pretty dang fun in photos. xo

  3. What a beautiful blog post,Christine! I got a little emotional when I read the third paragraph. I often think that adults should be the ones who should learn more from children. The part about your little ones changing their names was so funny! And I just love the photos and the way you correlated the coloured with the black & white ones. Good luck tomorrow and happy mother's day weekend!
