HMH above | RELM STUDIOS below

Happy Friday! We are off to the beach today. Woohoo! It's been forever since I have been on a vacation, even a mini one. So long in fact I just referred to driving two hours to the beach as a vacation. Still I am excited to have a change of scenery, be away from my house cleaning to-do list, and have some new landscape for taking photos. But before I take off for the weekend I wanted to, as promised, share a couple of my favorite finds from the Crafty Wonderland fair I attended.

+ Holly Muller Home is responsible for the beautiful macrame work in the first three images. I spotted them whilst several isles over making a quick trip away from my booth to use the restroom. I spied these amazing cream colored wall hangings and had to take a closer look. They are even more stunning in person. The designer, Holly, was so sweet and is obviously incredibly talented, you can learn more about her at her blog and visit her Etsy shop

+ My booth neighbor right next to me was Relm Studios, and her amazing ceramic pieces are the last three photos here (though this is just a tiny sample). I was instantly smitten, her work is phenomenal. The more I looked at it them more I loved it. The more I think about it the more I want to visit them again. As I mentioned it was a bit of a slow day so we were able to chat a bit about her process and inspiration, which again, just made me fall deeper in love with her creations. She has a shop here and a blog here (her blog has a lot of really great behind the scenes pictures of her work in various stages of the process).

+ I would like to add this book to my coffee table.

+ Last time I linked to photos of abandoned spaces everyone seemed to have the same fascination with them as I did. I found another photography series of abandoned places, by Johnny Joo who also has a book coming out called empty spaces (is it too early to start a christmas list?).

+ And while we are talking about abandoned places this art series by Carola Schapals,  is so breathtaking.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

  1. Oh hooray for beach vacations! You know, even though we live near the beach and can be at the oceanfront in 30 minutes and the Chesapeake Bay in 10, I love beach vacations. It's a totally different vibe, for sure. And your beaches are such great beaches! So different from mine! I love those ceramics. Just love. Since I've been photographing more flowers, I'm always on the look out for vessels... these are stunning.

I can't wait to check out your abandoned links. There's a facebook page called "Abandoned Virginia," that I love... mostly old farmhouses, manor homes and barns. Just beautiful.

  2. Oh yes when my friend lived in Portland she loved to drive to the coast. I was in a part of Long Island th the other day called Long Beach, I love it there because it has a bit of west coast vibe to it, though more southern cali then the PNW but it is nice. I am thinking of moving there. And love the planters and the hanging macrame such an easy way to add oomph to a room

  3. Yay for mini-vacations! I hope you guys have a great time. I LOVE all of this. I wish I could still remember how to do macrame, do you remember how I taught myself originally? When I was waiting in your car while you worked a shift at the Saigon Kitchen (that seems so weird that I would wait in your car while you were at work... ahh, the reasoning of a 17-year old cannot be explained..) Have a great weekend! xo

  4. Your mini-vacation sounds wonderful, Christine! I would certainly need one to recharge my batteries. Have fun!

  5. What a nice macrame!
Love it the ceramic pièces :)

  6. I hope you are having a wonderful time at the beach! You are going to come back so refreshed and recharged, a change of scenery is sooo needed every now and then!
And Fitz has totally ruined my design sense; I love those macrame things but my first thought was: "Oh Fitz would destroy that." Ha! xo

  7. Enjoy the beach holiday! Those macrame hangings are beautiful.

  8. I hope you have a wonderful vacation. And I just love these finds! The ceramic is gorgeous. Thank you for sharing. I'm glad I found your blog.

  9. So jealous of your beach-grams - hope you had a wonderful time!

  10. love your outtakes. especially the first few images... xo
