Today I am off to the gorge to help a friend with a project for her market. Now that all of our children are in school (both her's and mine) we can do these these things. But, shhh, don't tell them because  of course there is a pang of guilt - my children looove them and vice versa. The gorge is one of our favorite destinations. Not only because of the people we love that live there, but as anyone who has read on here for any length of time knows, it's one of my most favorite places. Not just in the Northwest, but anywhere in the world (you can see the gorge (here here here here + here). And especially in fall. It's beautiful all year round, though one of my favorite things to do this time of year is to see the gorge in all its autumnal splendor. Needless to say I am looking forward to beautiful the drive (no kids! which also means no frozen soundtrack) and some time with my friend (no kids! which means we can have conversations in which sentences are finished). Is there anything that you especially look forward to in the fall season?

  1. We've had rain and gray for two days and I say, YAY for fall! I love all of these photos. It's just what I want to be feeling right now. Oh, the cool temps are early for us. Maybe our trees will turn early this year too

What a lovely day you'll have. I'd say I want to ride along, but I think you need some time with your friend. XO

  5. Those two top photos go so well together! The one thing I'm really looking forward to this fall is enjoying autumn's more organized way of life and all its little joys, like grape harvest and pumpkin season.
