House Tour | Victoria Farmhouse |

Tuesday, November 18, 2014

Like many of you who commented on the loft post from last week, I love so many different kinds of homes and dreamed of almost all of them over the years. I have loved classic colonials, victorians, scandinavian modern, mid-century, craftmans, mountain retreats, mediterranean villas, and funky little apartments sitting above a bustling metropolitan street. I still tend to swoon and dream over all of these (and many more), and I can see myself, if even for a split second, living in each one. I agree with what Petra said, it would be fabulous to live in a new place every six months! My tastes and dreaminess for different kinds of homes also tends to be driven by the season and right now in the thick of fall I find myself dreaming of a cozy rustic farmhouse, kind of like this one. Maybe exactly like this one actually. You can read more about his beautiful farmhouse in Victoria, Australia here at The Design Files.

  1. I agree, I also tend to be drawn to different types of homes depending on the season. A touch of rustic is a must in the cold season. The kitchen is what i like the most about this home. It's already in my inspiration folders. :)

  2. You find THE BEST house tours. Seriously. I love this. A bit too much ... stuff... for me to really live with, perhaps, but it suits this home personally. I love how the wood stove makes that living space open and cozy at the same time. Thanks to you I've discovered I like brown and white, and thanks to you I'll go pin some of these ASAP!

  3. I feel like every home you post is "my perfect home". I guess I agree with Petra too! ; ) I do think that this home fulfills most of my wish list in my ultimate dream home. Rustic, old, in the country, love the decor and of course an amazing kitchen!

  5. Okay yeah we need to move to the southern hemisphere right now before my fingers fall off from the cold weather. And then I'll cook us a big celebration feast in that kitchen

  6. You can tell I'm a child of the Disney era because the thing that stuck out to me most was the old school spindle and sewing wheel, right out of Sleeping Beauty. ;) xo
